A defensive identity to investigate
Arkaya is officially profiled as a Support Adventurer using Lance. Her published theme connects steady attacks, Resolve, a spend, and a shield. Our October 29 A suggestion is for players who want to investigate that defensive rhythm. It is not proof of a squad-wide shield, permanent protection, a taunt, or top live performance.
Read the current effect before constructing a team around it. Determine the recipient, the resource requirement, the timing, and the recovery. A shield that benefits one player is strategically different from an effect that reaches several teammates. The word Support is not enough to settle that distinction.
Build priorities
Start by making Lance comfortable: face the target, respond deliberately, wait for the full sequence to end, then make a short punish. Fund a useful current equipment step after you can repeat that cycle. Select defensive changes according to the failure you observe rather than copying another title’s armor or guard assumptions.
| Priority | Practical check |
|---|---|
| Facing | You can keep the incoming pressure in view |
| Guard | You know which response is available in the selected controls |
| Resolve | You understand the current build and spend conditions |
| Shield | You know who actually benefits and when |
| Recovery | The spend does not leave you blind to the next attack |
We do not publish exact launch guard thresholds, resource values, or an invented set bonus. If an attack interaction is uncertain, keep a movement fallback and test it in a manageable context. A successful first block does not automatically verify the whole follow-up sequence.
A controlled Resolve trial
Keep the target and preparation stable. First practice the basic Lance loop without extending for the resource. Then add the current resource-building action when the opening is clear. Observe whether reaching the desired state makes you remain in a poor position longer than you otherwise would.
Next, spend during a recognized opportunity and watch the outcome. Was the intended protection active for the right recipient? Did the attack reach a useful target? Could you respond afterward? Separate the animation from those practical results. If you cannot tell, keep the interaction pending rather than promising it to a group.
Use in a learning squad
Arkaya can anchor a guard-led practice conversation with a comfortable damage player, a verified utility option, and a Fated flex slot. Anchor describes the learning job, not a confirmed aggro mechanic. The other players still need recovery supplies, readable positions, and a response when the shield effect is unavailable.
For Radiant Diablos, separate escape routes matter even if one player is testing guard. For Rathian, do not assume shielding replaces a current-client poison answer. Use the team planner to state those jobs before the attempt rather than letting each person infer them from class names.
Arkaya or Ouyang Varen
The two official Lance profiles have different classes and resources. Arkaya is Support with Resolve; Ouyang Varen is Assault with Impetus. Choose the kit whose actual actions and utility suit you. Do not assume that Support has no damage or that Assault has no defense.
If you already have a familiar guard-led option, identify what Arkaya would add before recruiting. Waiting for clearer live skill information can be sensible when the effect you want is still unverified. Account value comes from the job you can perform, not simply filling another class icon.
Arkaya questions
Does Arkaya shield the entire squad?
That recipient claim has not been verified in this guide. Read the exact current skill text and observe whom it affects before promising group protection.
Is Lance automatically safe?
No. Facing, resources, attack properties, and follow-ups still matter. Guard-led practice is a learning approach, not immunity.
